Kansas City Veterinary Care

Great staff from the office to the Dr. Knowledgeable and accommodating with appts. Dr was caring, and made me feel confident my bearded dragon was getting great care during a difficult diagnosis and treatment plan.

Client for over 30 years! I wanted to share some feedback about my experience today because I left extremely frustrated and disappointed. I understand that I was late for my appointment, and I take responsibility for that. I was unfortunately tied up with work and, while trying to call the office, spent several minutes on hold—time that, in hindsight, I should have simply used to get in the car and head over. That said, I was told that there is a 15-minute grace period, and I arrived within approximately a minute of that grace period. I was told that whether my dog could still be seen was ultimately the doctor’s decision, and that the doctor could not hold up the rest of her clients. I understand the importance of keeping a schedule, but I was very disappointed that there was seemingly no flexibility or compassion for being just a minute or so beyond the stated window. What made the situation more frustrating was the way it was handled at the front desk. The interaction felt rude and dismissive rather than understanding or compassionate. I wasn’t asking anyone to pretend that I wasn’t late. I was hoping for a little grace and kindness and, if accommodating us truly wasn’t possible, for that to at least be communicated with empathy. I also think it’s important to acknowledge that clients are routinely expected to be understanding when appointments at the practice run behind. In my experience, I frequently wait beyond my scheduled appointment time, and I accept that because veterinary medicine is unpredictable and some animals need more time than anticipated. I would hope that same understanding could occasionally extend in the other direction, particularly when the difference is only a couple of minutes. Ultimately, what bothers me most is that my dog was the one who went without care today. This wasn’t about trying to avoid responsibility for my lateness or expecting special treatment. I simply wish the situation had been approached with more compassion, kindness, and reasonable discretion. I hope you’ll take this feedback seriously. I value good veterinary care, but the way clients and their pets are treated when something doesn’t go perfectly also matters a great deal.

I came in for a second opinion regarding my bunny Chloe’s illness, and they were able to get us in the same day. Dr. Entrican performed a thorough examination. The vet techs and DR handled Chloe very gently and patiently, even though she is quite an escapist! He watched her walk because she was having trouble with her balance and determined that she was dealing with an inner ear infection. He prescribed additional antibiotics and a motion sickness medication to help with her symptoms. Throughout Chloe’s three-week recovery, I called the office 3+ times with updates and questions, and I was able to speak directly with Dr. Entrican on the phone. He took the time to answer all of my questions and never made me feel like I was bothering him. I also appreciate the empathy, reassurance, availability, and education he provided to me during such a stressful time as a pet owner. Having a sick pet is scary, and his communication and compassion made a huge difference. Thankfully, Chloe is now completely back to normal after her medications and weeks of recovery! Because of the passionate care we received, this will now be my new veterinary clinic for all four of my furry babies. I also really appreciate that they have an app where you can message the office. It makes asking questions, communicating with the staff, and scheduling appointments incredibly convenient. I’m so grateful I brought Chloe here for a second opinion and would absolutely recommend this clinic to other pet owners!

Obtaining international health certificates for our pets couldn't have been easier (and appropriately priced)! Celia was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and guided us through the process. Dr Kirkwood was so personable and professional. I highly recommend this clinic and their services.
